Biographical Information[edit]
An injury had a big impact on Terry Lee's career, but he still made it to the majors with the Cincinnati Reds in 1990, the year they won the World Series. He also appeared with them in 1991.
Lee was not drafted out of school but signed with the Reds in 1982. He was in the Reds organization through 1991, getting to AAA ball by 1986. An injury interfered with his playing time in 1986-1989 [1].
1990 was a good year for him in the minors, as he hit .313 with 23 home runs, while playing for two teams. He came up to the majors in September, getting into 12 games as a pinch-hitter and first baseman. The next year he played mostly for the Nashville Sounds, coming back to the majors for three games.
After being released by the Reds following the 1991 season, he played in 1992 with the organizations of the Cleveland Indians and the Minnesota Twins. In 1993 he played in Mexico, while in 1995-1997 he was in independent ball with the Winnipeg Goldeyes, for whom he was the dominant hitter all three years with a high batting average and good power.
