He debuted at age 15 for the Leksand Lumberjacks, hitting .086/.293/.155. He improved to .343/.525/.437 with 38 walks and 32 runs in 2007 and had 23 putouts, 4 assists and no errors in the outfield. He tied for the league lead in walks. [1] In '08, he batted .230/.333/.230. [2]

Emanuelsson did not play in the 2009 Elitserien. Returning in 2011, he produced at a .250/.387/.361 clip for Leksand. [3] In '12, he was 3 for 6 with 3 walks and a 3 runs. [4] A year later, he was still seeing little action (and hit .230/.343/.307). [5]

In 2014, the 23-year-old became Leksand's starting second baseman. He fielded .922 and batted .322/.408/.447. He led the league's second basemen in all counting defensive stats and just missed the top ten in average. [6] He made Sweden's squad for the 2014 European Championship and split second with former minor leaguer Adam Sorgi. In his debut, he batted for Oskar Vejkdahl and hit into an error. His next at-bat, he singled off Spencer Kreisberg for one of Sweden's two hits that day. He started the next day and hit a two-run shot against Nicholas Morreale as a bright spot in Sweden's 12-3 loss to Italy. He got more hit, off France's Enrique Juma. He finished the event at .273/.333/.545 and handled 14 chances error-free. Only Magnus Pilegård had a better OPS for Sweden. [7]

Simon fell to 1 for 7 for the 2015 Lumberjacks, though, and then missed 2016 and 2017. [8] Returning in 2018, he did not miss a beat at .360/.496/.443 with 28 walks and 33 RBI while fielding .964 at 2B. He was second in fielding at 2B (.001 behind Johan Jansson), 7th in batting average (between Ben Johnson and Elvis Hammarstedt), 1st in walks (8 ahead of Daniel Johnson) and 2nd in RBI. [9]

He then moved to Germany's Dohren Wild Farmers. He hit .239/.387/.380 with 23 walks, 23 runs and 23 RBI in 27 games but fielded .889. [10] He tied Philip Schulz for 10th in walks.
