Biographical Information[edit]

The Detroit Tigers drafted Shane Loux in the 2nd round of the 1997 Amateur Draft out of high school. In a career spanning 1997 to 2014, Loux pitched in the major leagues for parts of five seasons. He spent 2002-2003 with the Tigers, 2008-2009 with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, and 2012 with the San Francisco Giants. Over his major league career Loux recorded a 4-7 record with a 5.94 ERA while appearing in 58 games, mostly in relief.

Loux began his coaching career in late July 2015 as a pitching coach for the Sussex County Miners in the independent Canadian-American Association. In 2020 Loux was scheduled to be the Visalia Rawhide pitching coach before the season was cancelled due to COVID-19. Loux helped guide the 2021 Hops to the best ERA in High-A West with a 4.32 team ERA, ninth-best in all of High-A.
