From BR Bullpen

The High-A West was established in 2021 as part of the reorganization of Minor League Baseball into the Professional Development League. It is one of three High-A sections of the League, the others being the High-A East and the High-A Central. It was largely made up of former teams of the Northwest League which played its last season in 2019.
