San Juan de la Maguana, San Juan
San Juan de la Maguana is the capital of the province of San Juan in the Dominican Republic and is also known as San Juan. It is not to to be confused with San Juan, the much larger capital of Puerto Rico. San Juan de la Maguana is located in the geographical center of the island of Hispaniola, which the D.R. shares with Haiti, in mountainous country 40 miles north of Barahona and 75 miles north-west of the capital Santo Domingo.
