Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Fernando Romero had an excellent major league debut on May 2, 2018, pitching for the Minnesota Twins against the Toronto Blue Jays. He gave up no runs in 5 1/3 innings and earned a 4-0 win. His start came under additional pressure as the Twins had lost 11 of their previous 12 games. He then extended his scoreless streak in his second start, on May 7th, this time completing 6 innings during which he allowed just 3 hits and struck out 9. He received credit for a 6-0 win.

He missed almost all of 2014 and 2015 because of Tommy John surgery and knee surgery, delaying his rise to the majors. 2018 was the first year when he had been to spring training with the major league team.
