Hispaniola

From BR Bullpen

Hispaniola is a large island in the Caribbean Sea that is divided between the Dominican Republic, which occupies the eastern two thirds, and Haiti, which is the western third. Its closest neighbors are Puerto Rico to the east and Cuba to the west. It was the first part of the new world to be settled by Europeans, as Christopher Columbus established his first outposts on the island in 1493.
