Biographical Information

Rui-Yang Gu Lin has pitched in the CPBL

Gu Lin represented Taiwan in the 2017 U-18 Baseball World Cup. The Uni-President Lions drafted him in the first round of the 2018 CPBL draft. He suffered from a right shoulder injury, and had his CPBL debut on September 27, 2019. He pitched 5 innings, struck out 6 and allowed 2 runs. That's the only game he pitched with the big club. The talented right hander suffered a right oblique injury in 2020, and he only had 3 appearances in that season. The Lions named him as their opening day starter in 2021, and he pitched well in his first entire season in the CPBL. He was 8-6 with a 3.15 ERA, and collected 106 strikeouts. He didn't make it onto Lions' 2020 Taiwan Series roster because he reached his limit (100 innings) the team set for that season. Gu Lin was 7-4 with a 3.34 ERA in 2022, and attended the CPBL All-Star Game for the first time in his career. However, he suffered a right shoulder injury on August 17, and missed the rest of the season.

Gu Lin was on Taiwan's 24-man roster for the 2023 Asian Games.
