Biographical Information[edit]

Ronald Bueno peaked at AAA and has played for the Dominican national team.

Bueno was signed by Cincinnati Reds scout Richard Jimenez in November 2009. [1] He hit .290/.407/.357 with 41 walks in 67 games for the DSL Reds in his pro debut in 2010. He fielded .938 in 35 games at SS and .992 in 30 games at 2B. He was one walk shy from the Dominican Summer League top 10. With the same club in 2011, his numbers fell on both offense (.279/.396/.337) and defense (.917 FLD% at 2B, .901 at SS). He was a utility infielder for the 2012 AZL Reds (5 for 12, 2B, 3B, 4 BB) and DSL Reds (.233/.374/.367, 12 SB in 15 tries, 25 BB, 25 R in 33 G). He split 2013 between the AZL Reds (6 for 18, 2B, 2 BB) and Billings Mustangs (.274/.328/.357). A backup infielder for the 2014 Dayton Dragons, he hit .253/.310/.324.

In 2015, Bueno played for Dayton (.270/.352/.383 in 61 G, 6 3B) and the Daytona Tortugas (.226/.283/.274 in 32 G). He stole 16 bases in 21 tries that year. He was 5th in the Reds chain with 7 triples. The next summer, he was with Daytona (.245/.337/.384 in 40 G) and the Pensacola Blue Wahoos (.242/.333/.242 in 24 G). He became a free agent and the Chicago White Sox signed him. He was a utility man for three of their farm clubs in 2017 - the Winston-Salem Dash (.303/.375/.434 in 28 G), Birmingham Barons (.204/.338/.296 in 17 G) and Charlotte Knights (.222/.300/.407 in 58 G), making it to AAA.

He was the main second baseman for the Dominican entry in the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games. He was only 1 for 16 with a double and run, though he did draw four walks and go 2-for-3 in steals while playing error-free defense (17 PO, 10 A). He tied for second in the event in steals (one behind Ozzie Martínez) and tied former major leaguer Alberto Gonzalez for second in fielding at 2B (Jhonatan Lozada was also error-free, but in more chances).
