Biographical Information[edit]

Richard Jimenez played for five seasons in the minor leagues then became a scout.

Jimenez debuted with the 1998 DSL Blue Jays, hitting .276 with two home runs and 36 RBI. With the same club in 1999, he batted .270. He split 2000 between the DSL Blue Jays (.283) and the Queens Kings (7 for 32, 3B, 3 BB). In '01, the utility man played for the Auburn Doubledays (.281/.336/.325 in 35 G) and Charleston AlleyCats (.184/.267/.197 in 26 G). He stole 25 bases in 29 tries, tying for fourth in the Toronto system in steals. Jimenez only played outfield in 2002, in which he appeared for Auburn (.247/.299/.337 in 37 G), Charleston (.182/.255/.205 in 15 G) and the Dunedin Blue Jays (2 for 12, BB).

Jimenez later was the Cincinnati Reds' Dominican Scouting coordinator. He signed Carlos Contreras, Daniel Corcino, Félix Pérez and Jonathan Reynoso.
