Roke Alcantara Jr.
Biographical Information[edit]
Roke Alcantara Jr. is the son of Roke Alcantara Sr. and brother of Steve Alcantara and has been on the Guam national team.
In the 2003 South Pacific Games, he did not allow an earned run in five innings (2 H, 0 BB) for the champs; teammate Paul Pangelinan was about as dominant (0 in 6). He tied Francen Secharraimul for 3rd in ERA, behind Stanley Filiaga and Pangelinan. [1] He was 0-1 with a 3.24 ERA in the 2003 Oceania Championship, second on the team in ERA behind Kin Fernandez. His 8 1/3 IP tied Matty Gahan for 2nd in the event, behind Fernandez. [2] He was 2-2 with a 5.05 ERA in junior college in 2003-2004. [3] He won Gold in the 2005 South Pacific Mini-Games. [4]
He went the distance to beat Louis Solaita and American Samoa in the 2011 Pacific Games (7 K, 4 H, 1 UER) in a six-inning mercy rule win. He was 4th in the event in ERA (Joshua Jones, Elton Santos and Remi Couarraze had 0s in more innings), 7th in opponent average (.182) and tied Royce Sadang for 10th in whiffs. Guam won Silver. [5]
