Biographical Information[edit]
Rémi Couarraze played regularly for the New Caledonia national team.
Couarraze was 1 for 1 in the 2003 South Pacific Games. [1] In the 2005 South Pacific Mini-Games, the teenager was with New Caledonia again. [2] He played in the French minors in 2006-2007. [3] He won Silver in the 2007 South Pacific Games. [4] He played in the French minors again in 2009. [5]
In the 2011 Pacific Games, he got the win over Elton Santos and eventual champion Northern Mariana Islands (and drove in the winning run). He also started at third base for New Caledonia. He finished the tournament at .350/.435/.400 with four runs and five RBI in six games, fielding .880. He was 1-0 with two unearned runs in 8 1/3 IP. He led his team in both RBI and ERA and was second to Brieuc Mallet in average and OBP. He made the event leaderboards in offensive, fielding and pitching stats: 10th in average, 8th in OBP, tied for 2nd in RBI (with Emosi Gotegote and Manuel Sablan Jr., one behind Rico Castro), 3rd in ERA (behind Joshua Jones and Santos), 4th in opponent average (.161) and 2nd in assists (19, 4 behind Reagan Sidoi).
