Biographical Information

Robelys Reyes won a minor league batting title, peaked at AA and has been on the Dominican national team.

Reyes was signed by the St. Louis Cardinals in April 2010, relatively old for a Dominican signee at age 19. He hit .301/.372/.367 that summer for the DSL Cardinals, going 21-for-24 in steal attempts while splitting time primarily between 2B and SS. He led the team in runs and steals. He was even better with the same club the next year, producing at a .378/.453/.554 clip with another 43 runs. He was 22-for-31 in steals and fielded .971 at 2B. He led the Dominican Summer League in average (28 points ahead of Diego Goris), tied Jeimer Candelario for 3rd with 84 hits, was 3rd in OBP, ranked 3rd in slugging and tied Jesus Vasquez for the best OPS.

Despite that success, the Mao native did not move up in 2012; back with the DSL Cardinals for a 3rd season, he did not hit nearly as well (.250/.302/.315). He did come stateside in 2013 with the Johnson City Cardinals (3 for 18, 2B, BB) but again spent most of the time in the DSL (.317/.393/.413). He split 2014 between the State College Spikes (.284/.328/.388 in 60 G) and the Peoria Chiefs (.182/.217/.182 in 9 G). He was the 3rd-hardest batter in the New York-Penn League to strike out (1 K per 10.22 plate appearances).

He hit .255/.306/.293 for the '15 Palm Beach Cardinals and was 0 for 11 for the Springfield Cardinals. The Reno Aces took him in the AAA portion of the 2015 Rule V Draft. He also made his Dominican Winter League debut, going 2 for 15 for the Águilas Cibaeñas. He bounced around in 2016, with the Arizona Diamondbacks' Kane County Cougars (.281/.329/.292 in 27 G), Visalia Rawhide (.298/.330/.366 in 59 G) and Mobile BayBears (4 for 17).

Reyes did not play in the minors or the Dominican in 2017. In the winter of 2018-2019, he was briefly with the Leones del Escogido. He hit .261/.292/.304 with 5 runs in 5 games for the Dominican national team that won the 2019 Pan American Games Qualifier and a spot in the 2019 Pan American Games. He did not lead the team in runs as Willy Garcia, Ronny Paulino and Garabez Rosa all had more.
