Remembering Japanese Baseball

From BR Bullpen

Remembering Japanese Baseball (2005) is a collection of oral histories on Nippon Pro Baseball from the 1950s to the present. It is one of the finest books in English on Japanese baseball, and the first oral history of Japanese baseball. Author Rob Fitts conducted all the interviews (some via interpreter) and seamlessly edited the stories so as to flow clearly. The biggest flaw was an absence of interviews with recent Japanese players, as gaijin are relied upon for the modern histories. 25 players/managers are interviewed, with a good balance of players based on era.
