Biographical Information[edit]
Randy Cuentas has pitched in the Colombian League and for the Colombian national team.
Cuentas got a big start in the 2019 Pan American Games when the 21-year-old was summoned to face two-time defending champion Team Canada. He shut them out for the first five innings and was beating former major leaguer Scott Richmond 1-0 into the 6th. Connor Panas hit into a two-base error by Jonathan Lozada to open the 6th and Jordan Lennerton lined out. After Tristan Pompey singled in the tying run, Dewin Pérez relieved and let the inherited run score, handing Cuentas a loss despite a fine outing (5 1/3 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 6 K). In the Bronze Medal Game, he relieved Ángel Vílchez in the 6th with a 4-0 deficit against Nicaragua. He went 1-2-3 against Jilton Calderón, Dwight Britton and Edgard Montiel. He walked Benjamín Alegría to open the 7th and Jaider Rocha took over, but Alegría would score, meaning two of the three runs charged to Cuentas in the Games came when bequeathed runners scored.
