Biographical Information[edit]

Nolan Soliveres has played in the French Division I and for the French national team.

Soliveres made his Division I debut at age 15, hitting .191/.240/.213, fielding .918 and throwing out 40% of would-be base-stealers but averaging over a passed ball per game. [1] He was 1 for 7 for Stade Toulouse in 2014. [2] He attended the MLB European Academy. [3] The next year, he batted .209/.308/.233. [4] He started for France in the 2015 European Junior Championship, producing at a .333/.391/.524 clip in six games; he was third on the team in slugging behind Fred Walter and Léo Jiminian. [5]

He produced at a .247/.298/.390 clip for 2016. [6] Moving to the Montpellier Barracudas in '17, he hit .345/.441/.586 in 7 games, but spent most of the year in junior college in the US. [7] He hit .250/.423/.450 with 8 runs in 6 games in the 2017 European Championship U-23, with 3 steals in 4 tries. His four doubles were tied for third in the event. [8] In 2019, he transferred to Webber International University, hitting .220/.314/.396 with 21 RBI in 28 games. He was 7 for 43 with 2 doubles, 2 homers and 9 walks in 2020, cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Nolan was on the French squad for the 2021 European Championship, splitting catching with Andy Paz and second base with Daniel Patrice and Martin Vissac. Hitting 9th and playing second in the opener, he was hit by an Alex Webb pitch his first time up and drew a walk the next time up. He finished the Euros 0 for 13 with 2 walks, 2 times hit by pitch and a run. He fielded .974 and threw out 2 of 6 would-be base-stealers. He tied Sam Boermans for the second-worst oh-fer in the Euros, one behind Denis Pakši. [9]
