Biographical Information[edit]

Min-kook Kang played in the Korea Baseball Organization and for the South Korea national baseball team.

Kang represented Korea in the 2012 Asian Championship. He was 0-for-3 against the Philippines, and he went 0-for-2 against China. Kang then had a 1-for-2 record with a walk versus Pakistan, and South Korea won Bronze in the event. He also played for South Korea in the 2013 East Asian Games, winning Silver. The NC Dinos selected him in the first round of the 2014 KBO draft, and he spent his first three seasons mainly in the minors. He only had 28 at-bats combined, and he missed two seasons due to the military service.

Kang was traded to the KT Wiz for Seong-moo Hong after he returned in 2018, but he was then caught drunk driving and the league suspended him for 30 games. He hit .273/.319/.296 in 58 games in 2019, then his batting line fell to .224/.272/.252 in 2020. Kang was demoted again, and he only got 21 appearances with the big club until he announced his retirement in 2023. He then coached Masan Yongma High School.

Overall, Kang hit .229/.279/.269 with 63 hits in 8 seasons in the KBO.
