Biographical Information[edit]

Min-hyeok Kim has been an outfielder in the Korea Baseball Organization.

Kim was a second-round pick of the kt Wiz in the 2014 KBO draft. He had a decent rookie campaign in 2015, hitting .276/.342/.327 in 82 games as a teenager. He was only 3 for 29 with a double in 2016. Completing his military service with the Sangmu Phoenix team, he hit .357/.426/.478 with 37 steals in 93 games in 2017 in the minors. He then played for the South Korean national team in the 2017 Asian Championship. He hit .400/.435/.400 with 7 runs in six games, going 4-for-5 in steals. He tied Min-jae Choi and Sang-chul Moon for 3rd on South Korea in runs and led the team in steals. In the Bronze Medal Game win over the Philippines, he led off and started in left, going 1 for 3 with a hit-by-pitch, run and two RBI before Sang-un Park replaced him in a 15-0 rout. He made the tourney All-Star team in the outfield alongside Kazuki Kamizato and Tzu-Chieh Lin. Interestingly, he was not the only Min-hyeok Kim on South Korea - they also had a 3B named Min-hyeok Kim, who also did very well.
