Biographical Information[edit]

Min-hyeok Kim has played in the Korea Baseball Organization.

Kim was picked by the Doosan Bears in the second round of the 2015 KBO draft. He debuted for the team in 2017, hitting .190/.190/.286 in 21 plate appearances over 18 games. He then starred for the South Korean national team in the 2017 Asian Championship, hitting .381/.458/.524 with 8 runs and 5 RBI in six games while playing error-free ball (4 PO, 9 A). He tied Dae-in Hwang for the team lead in runs but did not make the tourney All-Star team as Shoji Kitamura was picked at third base. Interestingly enough, another Min-hyeok Kim also started for South Korea and did very well. Hitting 5th in the Bronze Medal Game, the Gwangju native was 2 for 4 with a walk, two runs and two RBI in a win over the Philippines.
