Biographical Information[edit]

Dae-in Hwang has played in the Korea Baseball Organization.

Hwang was a second-round pick of the KIA Tigers in the 2015 KBO draft. He hit .273/.273/.455 in 44 at-bats over 22 games for the team in the 2015 KBO, with 18 whiffs and no walks. He was 3 for 7 with two doubles and a homer in 2016. He joined the military Sangmu Phoenix team the next year to fulfill his mandatory military service; in 2017, he batted .311/.394/.625 with 26 homers and 82 RBI in 86 games for them.

Appearing for the South Korean national team in the 2017 Asian Championship, he put on a strong show, hitting .500/.481/.731 with 7 RBI and 8 runs in six games. He tied Ho-yeon Lee and Sang-chul Moon for the team lead in runs and tied Min-hyeok Kim for the most RBI on the squad. He led the team in slugging, 0.17 ahead of Sung-gyu Lee. In the Bronze Medal Game, he hit 3rd and was 1 for 5 with a run and a RBI in a 15-0 thumping of the Philippines. He was named the tournament's All-Star DH, one of three South Koreans on the All-Star team (Moon and different Min-hyeok Kim were picked).
