Biographical Information[edit]
Mark Johnson played in the New York Mets chain from 1967 to 1969. He was an outfielder in 1967-1968 and a pitcher in 1969.
Johnson was an assistant coach at the University of New Mexico (1970-1971), University of Arizona (1972-1976), Mississippi State University (1977-1982), and Texas A&M University (1983-1984).
Johnson was the head coach at Texas A&M from 1985 to 2005, leading the school to the College World Series in 1993 and 1999. He also coached for Team USA in the 1991 Pan American Games. In 2007, Johnson became the head coach at Sam Houston State University. He retired at the end of the 2011 season with a record of 1043-564-3.
