Biographical Information[edit]

Marc Bombard pitched in the minors in the Cincinnati Reds organization from 1971 to 1977. He finished with a 39-29 record in 152 games. On June 6, 1975, Bombard threw a perfect game for the Tampa Tarpons against the Lakeland Tigers. His brother Rich Bombard played and coached in the minors as well.

After his playing days, he became a minor league coach and manager for the Reds. From 1977 to 1981, he was the Reds' roving minor league pitching instructor. He was a minor league manager for the Reds from 1982 to 1988, the Milwaukee Brewers in 1989, and Pittsburgh Pirates from 1990 to 1992. He returned to the Reds as manager of the Indianapolis Indians from 1993 to 1995. In 1996, Bombard served as the Reds third base coach. He joined the Philadelphia Phillies organization the following year and managed the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons for eight seasons. He became the Phillies first base coach in 2005 and was fired after two seasons with the club.

In early 2007, Bombard was named manager of the Charlotte Knights. He managed the Round Rock Express from 2009-2010.
