Biographical Information[edit]

Lukáš Žilavy has pitched for the Slovakian national team.

Žilavy was 3 for 9 with 3 walks, a run and 3 RBI for Apollo Bratislava in the 2016 Federations Cup. He also went the distance in a 5-4 upset win over Simon Andersson and the Sölvesborg Firehawks. He was 4th in the event in ERA. [1] Playing for Slovakia in the 2019 B-Level European Championship, he allowed two walks, a hit and two runs in 2/3 of an inning against Lithuania. [2] He was with Slovakia for the 2021 European Championship Qualifier but did not get into a game; Slovakia won a spot in the European Championship for the first time. [3]

In the 2021 European Championship, he was the first reliever for Slovakia in a European Championship. He took over for Marko Vykoukal in the third with a 1-0 deficit against the title-bound Dutch national team. He had a wild day, plunking Roger Bernadina and Ray-Patrick Didder then walked Juremi Profar. A wild pitch made it 2-0 then he walked Sharlon Schoop. Jaroslav Kosna took over and let the inherited runners score to leave him with an infinite ERA for the Euros (he did not pitch again). [4]
