2016 Federations Cup

From BR Bullpen

The 2016 Federations Cup was held in Brno in late June 2016. It was the first Federations Cup, with the winning nation advancing to the 2017 CEB Cup and the two bottom nations being relegated to Federations Cup Qualifiers.

Draci Brno (Czech Republic) won the title to give the Czechs two spots in the 2017 CEB Cup. Adam Hajtmar hit .560/.593/.800 with 13 runs, 9 RBI and 5 steals to win MVP honors. Jason Jarvis threw a three-hit shutout in the finale.

The Sölvesborg Firehawks (Sweden) finished second, going 3-2 in the round-robin and dropping the finale; Parker Talbert took the defeat in that game.

The Deurne Spartans Antwerp (Belgium) were third at 3-2. The Buffaloes Blagoevgrad (Bulgaria) was 4th at 2-3, followed by Apollo Bratislava (Slovakia) (also 2-3), with SSHOR Moskvich (Russia) finishing last at 0-5. Slovakia and Russia thus lost their spots in the 2017 Federations Cup, with a second Belgian team and Spain set to replace them by winning qualifiers.
