Biographical Information[edit]

Jason Jarvis has pitched in the minors.

Jarvis went 6-1 with a 1.70 ERA as a high school junior and hit .432. As a senior, he had a 12-0, 1.40 record and hit .429. He won All-State and was picked by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the 25th round of the 2006 amateur draft. He spent a semester at Chandler-Gilbert Community College then transferred to Arizona State. As a college freshman, he was 2-2 with 11 saves and a 4.50 ERA; he tied Nick Hagadone for 4th in the Pacific-10 Conference in saves, setting an ASU freshman record. He allowed six hits in 3 2/3 IP and saved two games. He was then ruled academically ineligible for the remainder of the season.

Jarvis then signed with the Lincoln Saltdogs. He was 4-6 with a 2.98 ERA and a save for Lincoln. He tied for 10th in the American Association with nine wild pitches. The San Francisco Giants in the 23rd round of the 2008 amateur draft. He split the remainder of the summer with the AZL Giants (1 UER in 1 1/3 IP) and Salem-Keizer Volcanoes (1-0, 3 R in 2 IP).

In 2009, Jarvis was 2-1 with a 4.09 ERA for the AZL Giants, striking out 22 in 22 innings. The next year, he was 0-1 with 7 saves and a 3.07 ERA for the Augusta Greenjackets. Let go by the Giants, he returned to the independent leagues. In 2011, he was with the Joliet Slammers (1-2, 5.40) and Sioux City Explorers (3-5, 5.59, 90 H in 66 IP).
