Biographical Information[edit]
Luis Delogu has played in France and Spain and for the French national team.
In 2018, he hit .289/.346/.400 with 12 RBI in 14 games for the La Rochelle Boucaniers but was 0 for 8 for the Templiers de Sénart and had 12 passed balls, second in the French Division I despite his limited time. [1] He batted .220/.238/.317 for the '19 Templiers. [2] The 2020 French season was wiped out by the COVID-19 pandemic.
He moved to Spain's San Inazio Bilbao club for 2021. Despite moving to a stronger league, his numbers improved significantly - .400/.529/.582, 16 RBI, 12 BB in 16 G. He fielded .994 but only caught 1 of 17 base-stealers. His 161 putouts led the Spanish Baseball League, 3 ahead of Blake Ochoa, and he tied for 10th in OBP. [3] He then played for France in the 2021 European Championship, debuting, hitting third and playing DH against the British national team. He struck out his first two at-bats against Alex Webb. For the 2021 Euros, he was 0 for 12 with a walk and a sacrifice fly. His sac fly, off Greek's Dimitri Kourtis, scored Léo Jiminian in the bottom of the 11th to tie it at 6, but France lost in 12. In the 15th/16th place game, he hit cleanup and manned first base, handling 12 chances error-free; he was 0 for 5 but got his walk (from Michal Puškár) as part of a 6-5 win over Slovakia. He did not have the worst oh-fer in those Euros - Sam Boermans and Nolan Soliveres were 0 for 13 while Denis Pakši was 0 for 14. [4]
