Biographical Information[edit]

Livio Bundi has pitched for the Swiss national team and in the Bundesliga.

Bundi was 0-1 with a 3.24 ERA in college in 2023. [1] He was with Switzerland for the 2023 European Championship, their first European Championship. He appeared in their first game, against Israel, starting in right field and hitting 7th. He struck out and grounded out facing Itai Spinoza then Saentis Zeller batted for him. While he only had one more at-bat in their next five contests, he did pitch in three of them. He closed out their first win ever in a European Championship, relieving James Sanders in the 8th with a 6-1 lead over Belgium, two on and two out. He struck out Dennis De Quint to end the inning. In the 9th, he walked Axel Poesmans and Arthur Heymans singled then Nando Mostaert hit into a force. A wild pitch scored a run but he retired Zion De Brauwer. After walking Yves Poesmans on four pitches, he recovered to get Benjamin Goffaux to end it. He had a 2.25 ERA for the Euros, though he walked 5 in 4 IP; he also struck out 5. He tied for the team lead in appearances. [2] It is unclear if he is related to teammate Fabio Bundi.

After a winter in Australia [3], he signed with Germany's Hamburg Stealers for 2024; after 7 games, he had two saves, a 4.32 ERA and 20 K in 16 2/3 IP. [4]
