Biographical Information[edit]

Nando Mostaert has played in Belgium and for the Belgian national team.

Mostaert was 2-for-30 with 9 strikeouts for the K. Deurne Spartans in the First Division at age 15. [1] In the 2022 U18 European Championship, he hit .240/.259/.360. [2] With the '22 Spartans, he hit .190/.301/.238, fielded .936 and was 4-3 with a 6.99 ERA. [3]

The shortstop batted .304/.385/.435 for the Spartans in the 2023 Federations Cup [4] and .365/.475/.587 in the regular season (going 1-1), fielding .961. He had 40 RBI in 37 games. He tied Johiner Arguinzones for second with six dingers, was 4th in slugging, was 5th in RBI and was second in assists. [5] In the 2023 U23 European Championship, he was at .313/.313/.563, handling 32 chances error-free and allowing one run in two innings. [6] He then was the youngest player on Belgium's team at the 2023 European Championship at age 17 and was not a bench warmer either. Starting at short against Germany, he was 0 for 3 against Niklas Rimmel and Benjamin Thaqi. He finished 1-for-12 with a walk for the event; his hit came off Carlos García. He fielded .909. [7]
