Biographical Information[edit]

Kyu-soo Cho played in the Korea Baseball Organization for 7 years.

Cho was drafted by the Hanwha Eagles in the first round of the 2000 KBO draft, and he went 10-12 with a 5.05 ERA in his first season. He had a 7-8 record and 5 saves with a 4.24 ERA in 2001. He represented South Korea in the 2001 Baseball World Cup, going 2-0 with a 1.15 ERA. He beat Nicaragua's Oscar Torres and Italy's Angelo Palazzetti. He tied Yuya Ando, Erik Remmerswaal, Jose Contreras, Miguel Gomez, Ming-Chieh Hsu, Pedro Luis Lazo, Ciro Licea, Cairo Murillo, Hayato Nakamura, Jason Phillips, Jason Stanford and Norge Vera for second in the event in wins, trailing Chih-Chia Chang. Cho was 5-7 with a 5.46 ERA in 2002, and he struggled again in 2003 as he went 4-10 with a 5.28 ERA.

He suffered from an elbow injury in 2004, and his ERA rose to 7.68 in 20 games. Cho then missed the next three seasons due to military service, and he stayed in the minors until the Eagles traded him with Chang-hoon Kim to the Doosan Bears for Dae-soo Lee after the 2009 season. Cho only pitched 2 games for Doosan's big club in 2010, and he announced his retirement in 2011.

Overall, Cho was 28-46 with a 5.26 ERA, struck out 388 and pitched 583 2/3 innings in 7 seasons in the KBO.
