Biographical Information[edit]

Juraj Bartók has pitched for the Slovakian national team.

He pitched 1 1/3 shutout innings for Apollo Bratislava in the 2017 European Interleague. [1] In the 2017 European Championship U23, he allowed five runs in 2/3 IP, closing out a loss to Poland. [2] He was 4 for 12 with two walks, five runs and two RBI in the 2018 Interleague but did not pitch. [3] In the 2018 Federations Cup, he allowed eight unearned runs in 2/3 IP against the Astros Valencia; a highlight was striking out former AAA player Blake Ochoa. [4] He was 1-0 with a 4.22 ERA in the 2019 Interleague. [5] The 2020 Interleague was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Debuting for Slovakia's senior national team in the 2021 European Championship Qualifier, he relieved Daniel Just in the 7th with a 10-5 lead. He allowed two hits and two walks in two innings, fanning three, to close out the win over Ireland. [6] Slovakia made their first European Championship, the 2021 European Championship. He made his European Championship debut against Sweden, closing out a 11-0 loss. Relieving Markus Racík, he got Daniel Johnson on a fly and Thomas Paulich on a grounder, walked Niklas Melin and retired Trolle Brandt. His second game, he took over for Marek Bošanský in the 8th with a 12-3 deficit versus Czechia. Petr Zýma greeted him with a home run, ending the game due to the mercy rule. He appeared in the 15th/16th place game against France. Replacing Racík in right field in the 11th and last inning of a 6-5 loss, he struck out against Robyn Clara his lone at-bat. [7]
