Biographical Information[edit]

Jung-min Choi played in the Korea Baseball Organization and for the South Korea national baseball team.

Choi was drafted by the SK Wyverns in the 5th round of the 2012 KBO draft, and he went 0-for-2 in his first season. He then missed the next two seasons due to military service, and he also represented Korea in the 2013 East Asian Games, winning a Silver Medal. Choi was 4-for-13 in 2015 after returning, and he got some chances after Hector Gomez was injured in 2016. Choi played a career-high 88 games, and his batting line was .329/.386/.368.

He was traded to the KIA Tigers with Myung-ki Lee, Min-sik Kim and Gwan-hyun Roh for Jeong-woo Yoon, Soo-kwang Noh, Hong-ku Lee and Seong-woo Lee in the middle of the 2017 season. Kim was mainly placed in the minors as he only played 8 games with the big club in '17 season, then he hit .253/.319/.349 in 57 games in 2018. He never played more than 40 games in the major league after the '18 season, and he announced his retirement in 2023.

Overall, Choi hit .293/.358/.345 with 85 hits and 2 homers in 8 seasons in the KBO.
