Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Ju-Liang Tai has played for the Taiwanese national team.

Tai was 1 for 5 in the 2013 World Port Tournament. [1] He played in the CPBL minors in 2016, hitting .299/.365/.358, but did not make it to the top league. [2] In the 2017 World Port Tournament, he batted .188/.409/.250 as Taiwan won the title. [3] He went 3 for 7 with a walk, steal, two runs and a RBI in the 2017 Asian Championship but made one error in five chances. Starting in center and hitting 6th in the Gold Medal Game, he was 1 for 3 before being replaced by Hsin-Chuan Wang in a loss to Japan. [4]

During the 2018 Haarlem Baseball Week, he produced at a .357/.455/.429 clip with 7 runs in 8 games for Taiwan while fielding .875. He was second in runs (one behind Chien-Ming Chiang) and tied Dudley Leonora and Chris Colabello for 3rd with 5 walks. [5] He had very similar offensive numbers in the 2018 Asian Games - .353/.421/.471, 4 R in 5 games in the round-robin while playing better defense (no errors in ten chances). He went 4 for 4 against Hong Kong and had their only run off Quan Gan in a 1-0 win over China. He nearly led Taiwan in average (.004 behind Chia-Yu Lin) and tied for second on the team in runs (one behind Chia-Wei Huang). He starred in the Bronze Medal Game, going 1 for 2 with a triple, two walks, a hit-by-pitch, a steal, four runs and two RBI from the leadoff slot in the Bronze Medal Game, a 10-0 win over China. [6]
