Biographical Information[edit]
Hsin-Chuan Wang has played for the Taiwanese national team. His brother Shih-Hua Wang and nephew Hung-Hsien Lin played in the CPBL.
Wang played for Taiwan in the 2003 Asian Junior Championship. He spent 2005-2007 in the CPBL minors, hitting .338/.400/.431 in 2006 and .316/.409/.421 in 2007 but never making it to the CPBL itself. [1] He hit .318/.423/.318 with 2 runs and 4 RBI in 7 games for Taiwan when they won the 2017 World Port Tournament, fielding .913. Playing third in the finale, he drove in all 3 runs in a 10-inning win over Japan. [2] He remained with Taiwan for the 2017 Asian Championship, in which he batted .278/.316/.389 with two runs and a RBI in six games; he had two assists in the field, presumably used at DH mostly. In the Gold Medal Game, he replaced Ju-Liang Tai in CF late in a 6-1 loss and was retired by Masaki Tanigawa in his lone plate appearance. [3]
