He was signed by Oakland Athletics scout Juan C. De La Cruz. [1] He was 0-5 with a 2.51 ERA in his pro debut for the DSL Athletics in 2018. The next year, he came stateside but struggled with the AZL Athletics Green (1-5, 7.29 ERA, 1.95 WHIP). He tied for 7th in the Arizona League in losses. The 2020 minor league season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In '21, he was with the Stockton Ports (1-1, 3.86 in 6 G) and Lansing Lugnuts (0-2, 11.12 in 2 G). He missed most of the next year due to a sprained right ulnar collateral ligament. [2] He threw four no-hit innings against the South Bend Cubs on September 4; Jack Owen, Shohei Tomioka and Osvaldo Berríos wrapped up the combined no-hitter. [3]
Juan pitched in 2023 for the Lugnuts (1-0, 2 Sv, 0.63 in 9 G) and Midland Rockhounds (1-4, Sv, 5.66 in 26 G). He struck out 65 but walked 44 in 49 1/3 IP. A free agent, he signed with the Atlanta Braves. He was 2-4 with four saves and a 5.11 ERA and 53 K in 37 IP for the 2024 Mississippi Braves. With the Dominican entry in the 2024 Premier 12, he debuted against Australia, relieving Dionys Rodriguez with one out in the 6th, two on and one out. He yielded a sac fly to Travis Bazzana then whiffed Aaron Whitefield. In the 7th, he walked Robbie Glendinning, struck out Rixon Wingrove, threw a wild pitch, gave up a RBI single to Tim Kennelly and retired Darryl George. Wilber Pérez took over in the 8th. The tall right-hander made one other appearance, versus Japan. The 7th of 9 pitchers in a 11-3 loss, he took over for Gerald Ogando. He went 1-2-3 against Toshiya Satoh (K), Ryota Isobata and Itsuki Murabayashi. Pérez again succeeded him. [4]
