Biographical Information[edit]
Joe Roberts was a long-time college coach.
He was a record-setting basketball player in college and also played baseball. He was head coach of Armstrong State University from 1980-2013, setting the NCAA Division II record for wins (1,250-607), later broken by Mike Metheny. He took his team to the 1988 Division II College World Series, 1989 Division II College World Series and 1994 Division II College World Series. He won eight Coach of the Year honors. He coached future major leaguers Adam Bernero and Jeremy Horst.
