Biographical Information[edit]

Joe Roberts was a long-time college coach.

He was a record-setting basketball player in college and also played baseball. He was head coach of Armstrong State University from 1980-2013, setting the NCAA Division II record for wins (1,250-607), later broken by Mike Metheny. He took his team to the 1988 Division II College World Series, 1989 Division II College World Series ‎and 1994 Division II College World Series. He won eight Coach of the Year honors. He coached future major leaguers Adam Bernero and Jeremy Horst.
