Biographical Information[edit]

Jesus Iguel was on the Northern Mariana Islands national team in the 2011 Pacific Games. In the opener, he led off and played right field, singling off Kalson Dulei his first time up. In the quarterfinals, he had 3 hits and 3 runs to beat New Caledonia. He also played 3B, 2B and CF in the tourney, mostly second base. He led the Northern Mariana Islands in average entering the Gold Medal Game with a .417/.462/.417 batting line. He had 7 runs in 7 games but fielded .750. He was among the tournament leaders in average (4th, behind Rico Castro, Daniel Va'a and Melngis Uchel), OBP (tied Uchel for 3rd), runs (tied B.J. Balajadia for 2nd, 2 behind Juan Maratita), hits (10, tying Uchel and Castro for the lead), total bases (10, tied Byron Kaipat and Jerome De Los Santos for 6th), sacrifice hits (3, 1st) and errors (4, tied for 5th with Tavo Sorovakatini and Sébastien Lepouriel). [1] In the Gold Medal Game against Guam, he hit leadoff and played second. This time, his defense was much sharper with eight error-free chances. He was 2 for 5 with two runs and a RBI, scoring the first run off Freddy Cepeda Jr. as they began their comeback to win Gold. [2] He has played in the Saipan Baseball League. [3]
