Biographical Information[edit]

Ismael Cabrera has pitched in the minors and for the Dominican national team.

He was signed by Philadelphia Phillies scout Carlos Salas in April 2014. [1] He was 2-2 with a 2.57 ERA for the DSL Phillies that summer, fanning 46 in 42 innings. In '15, he pitched for the GCL Phillies (2-2, 3 Sv, 0.56, 19 K in 16 IP) and Williamsport Crosscutters (0 T in 3 IP). He bounced between the Lakewood BlueClaws (2-1, 3 Sv, 4.09 in 15 G), GCL Phillies (0-1, 2.25 in 3 G) and Clearwater Threshers (4 R in 2 IP) during 2016.

In 2017, he was 8-5 with two saves and a 3.63 ERA in 33 games for Lakewood. He spent 2018 with Lakewood (0-2, 6.23 in 12 G) and Clearwater (0-1, 2 Sv, 7.16 in 11 G). Right-handed hitters batted .195 against him. [2] He pitched in 2019 for the BlueClaws (3-0, Sv, 1 UER in 10 1/3 IP) and Threshers (0-1, 2.79 in 6 G). After being let go by the Phils, he pitched for the Long Island Ducks (1-0, 4.74 in 15 G) and New Jersey Jackals (3-1, 3.86 in 8 G).

The right-hander made the Dominican team for the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games. He debuted against Venezuela, relieving Francisco Lopez with a 4-2 deficit in the 5th, the bases loaded and two outs. He escaped that jam by striking out Anderson Melendez. After allowing a run in the 6th, he was succeeded by Cesar Rosado. He finished the Games with a 2.33 ERA and tied for 8th with three appearances. [3]
