Biographical Information

Anderson Melendez played in the minors and for the Venezuelan national team.

He was signed by Milwaukee Brewers scout Alcides Melendez (unclear if there is any relation). He hit .232/.266/.297 for the 2017 DSL Brewers with six outfield assists in 64 games, while stealing 7 bases in 9 tries. Coming stateside, he fell to .135/.170/.202 for the '18 AZL brewers. He batted .237/.314/.311 for the 2019 AZL Brewers Blue and had 8 assists in 35 games in the outfield. He was 2 for 6 with a run and a RBI when Venezuela won the 2021 U-23 Baseball World Cup.

Melendez was on the Venezuelan team that won Bronze in the 2022 Bolivarian Games. He played one game, starting their opener in left against the Dominican national team. His second-inning single off former major leaguer Alfredo Figaro scored Jose Ortega with Venezuela's first run of the Games. He flew out in the third then was replaced.
