Biographical Information[edit]

César Rosado pitched as high as AA and was on the Dominican national team.

He was signed by Houston Astros scouts Oz Ocampo and Roman Ocumarez in December 2014. [1] He was 4-3 with a save and a 2.76 ERA for the 2015 DSL Astros Orange in his pro debut. In '16, he was with the DSL Astros Orange (0-1, 0.82 in 3 G) and the GCL Astros (3-3, 3.00 in 12 G). During 2017, he was with the Tri-City ValleyCats (1-0, 0 R in 10 IP) and Quad Cities River Bandits (3-2, 6.16 in 7 G).

In 2018, he was 5-4 with two saves and a 4.15 ERA for the River Bandits. He had a 3-7, 4.40 record and five saves for the 2019 Fayetteville Woodpeckers, striking out 61 in 47 innings. That winter, he allowed one run in a third of an inning for the Tigres del Licey. The 2020 minor league season was cancelled because of COVID-19. In the winter, he pitched 2/3 shutout innings for the Águilas Cibaeñas.

Rosado began 2021 on a rough note with the Corpus Christi Hooks (1-6, Sv, 7.04 in 16 G) before being let go. Signing with the independent Sussex County Miners, he was 0-1 with a 9.53 ERA in four games the remainder of the year. He was on the Dominican team in the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games, allowing one run in 4 2/3 IP over five outings. He tied Sonny Vargas, Miguel Rosario, Wuilder Rodríguez and Eduardo Paredes for the event lead in appearances. [2]

Back with the Dominicans for the 2023 Pan American Games, he retired all five batters he faced. [3] He pitched 10 1/3 shutout innings with four saves for the 2023-2024 Vaqueros de Barranquilla, tying fellow Dominican Rosado Eury Rosado for 4th in the Colombian League in saves.
