In the Classic, he made one appearance, replacing Kun Chen in the 6th with a 5-0 deficit against Japan. He retired Nobuhiro Matsuda, then Hayato Sakamoto reached on an error by Xu An. He also had a 3 1/3 relief appearance in which he allowed one run. He led China in decisions, innings pitched and strikeouts (9, one ahead of Li).
