2012 Asia Series
The 2012 Asia Series was the 6th Asia Series. It was held in November 2012 in South Korea. The Yomiuri Giants won the title. Their shortstop Hayato Sakamoto was named MVP.
November 8[edit]
- Lamigo Monkeys 14, China Stars 1. Chao-Hao Tseng gets the win while Chih-Sheng Lin, Chin-Feng Chen and Chih-Wei Shih all go deep as Taiwan routs mainland China.
- Lotte Giants 6, Perth Heat 1. Seung Song pitches Lotte to a win over Perth and Virgil Vasquez.
November 9[edit]
- Yomiuri Giants 7, Perth Heat 1. CF/RF Tetsuya Matsumoto goes 3 for 4 with 2 RBI to lead Yomiuri's offense, while Yuki Koyama allows one run in 5 2/3 IP. Anthony Claggett takes the defeat, while CF Corey Adamson leads Australia, going 2 for 4 with a run.
- Lamigo Monkeys 3, Samsung Lions 0. Taiwan upset Korea as Mike Loree tossed a 11-K, 3-hit shutout. Hung-Yu Lin took Young-soo Bae deep in the 4th, then Chih-Yao Chan added a two-run single in the 7th.
November 10[edit]
- Yomiuri Giants 5, Lotte Giants 0. Hirokazu Sawamura allows four hits in 7 innings to beat the home team and send Yomiuri to the finale. Wong-jun Ko took the loss.
- Samsung Lions 9, China Stars 0. Samsung had some consolation with a 5-hit shutout of China, beating Tao Bu, in failing to repeat their 2011 title.
November 11[edit]
- Championship Game: Yomiuri Giants 6, Lamigo Monkeys 3. Yomiuri got good pitching from Ryosuke Miyaguni (1 R in 6 IP) and a four-run second inning with a 2-run double by Yoshihito Ishii and a 2-run homer by Kazunari Sanematsu to take the title. Lamigo starter Paul Phillips gives up 4 runs in 1 2/3 IP to take the loss.
