Biographical Information[edit]

Grover Resinger was a minor league 3B/OF from 1934 to 1949, except 1938 when he was out of organized ball, 1942, when he was on the suspended list, and 1943-1945, when he was in the military. He led Southeastern League third basemen in double plays in 1947 and 1948 with 20 and 29 respectively. During that 1947 season, he was the player/manager of the Pensacola Fliers until being released June 14th, and catching on with the Gadsden Pilots as a player for the rest of the season.

Resinger was a coach for the Houston Buffs in 1960, then was a minor league manager from 1961 to 1965. He coached for the Atlanta Braves in 1966 and the Chicago White Sox in 1967 and 1968. Resinger was then a scout for the St. Louis Cardinals the second half of 1968 and a coach for the Detroit Tigers in 1969 and 1970. He was a minor league manager for the Oakland A's in 1972 and a minor league instructor for the A's in 1973, a scout for the California Angels in 1974, a coach for the Angels in 1975 and 1976, and finally a scout for the New York Yankees in 1977.
