Biographical Information[edit]
Minor league catcher Fred Hawn managed in the St. Louis Cardinals farm system before moving to scouting full-time in 1945. He signed Lindy McDaniel, Von McDaniel, Wally Moon, and Hal Smith to their first contracts.
