Biographical Information[edit]

Frank Moore spent parts of two seasons at AAA.

Moore was taken by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in the 23rd round of the 1998 amateur draft. He split that pro season between the GCL Devil Rays (.303/.337/.434 in 39 G) and the Princeton Devil Rays (2 for 17, 2 BB). In 1999, Frank hit .304/.349/.392 with 24 steals in 33 tries for the Hudson Valley Renegades. He led New York-Penn League second basemen in putouts (148) and errors (18).

For 2000, Moore moved up to the Charleston RiverDogs, where he batted .263/.300/.363. His 23 errors led South Atlantic League second basemen. In '01, he hit .307/.346/.430 with 75 runs for the Bakersfield Blaze while moving to the outfield. He finished 6th in the California League in batting average. As a utility man for the 2002 Orlando Rays, Moore put up a .281/.342/.350 line.

Frank split 2003 between Orlando (.277/.324/.398) and the Durham Bulls (4 for 38, 2 BB). In 2004, he batted .268/.322/.372 as a backup 1B-OF for the Montgomery Biscuits.

A free agent, Moore signed with the Florida Marlins chain. He spent 2005 between the Jupiter Hammerheads (.288/.366/.356) and Carolina Mudcats (.269/.335/.404), continuing to be a reliable utility player. In 2006, the Georgian veteran hit .210/.282/.293 for Carolina and was 8 for 19 with 3 walks and 3 doubles for Jupiter. He split 2007 between the Mudcats (.225/.287/.352) and Albuquerque Isotopes (an impressive .358/.414/.472 in his last 28 games at AAA). In 2008, he was in the independent leagues with the Somerset Patriots, going 7 for 37 with two doubles, a homer and three walks to end his playing career.

Moore was hitting coach of the Jamestown Jammers in 2009-2010, Jupiter Hammerheads in 2011, Greensboro Grasshoppers in 2012-2014, Jupiter again in 2016, Greensboro again in 2017-2018, and Clinton LumberKings in 2019. He was defensive coach for Jupiter in 2021 and Pensacola Blue Wahoos in 2022.
