First Japan Professional Baseball League game
The first Japan Professional Baseball League game started at 11:10 AM on April 29, 1936 at Koshien Stadium in Nishinomiya, Hyogo. The two teams were Nagoya and Dai Tokyo.
The starting batteries were Kiyoshi Makino (pitching) and Californian Harrison McGalliard (catcher) for Nagoya and Hisashi Kondo and Yukinobu Murakawa for Dai Tokyo. Hawaiian Herbert North came on in relief in the first inning for Nagoya and got the win. Either McGaillard or Yoshio Takahashi, a Nisei infielder from Hawaii, was the first foreign pro league player in Japanese baseball history.
