Nagoya was a Japanese baseball club from 1936 to 1943 when team changed its name to Sangyo. The team was founded on January 15, 1936 by the New Aichi Shimbun. The team's official name was the Dai Nippon Baseball League Nagoya Association Nagoya-gun. Nagoya was the winner of the first Japan Professional Baseball League game by a score of 8 - 5 over Dai Tokyo on April 29, 1936. The team never finishied higher than fourth until 1943 when it placed third.
