Biographical Information[edit]
Fernando Nishimura batted .385/.467/.423 with 8 runs in 7 games in the 2002 World Junior Championship, playing error-free defense in left field. He was the third-youngest member of the Brazilian national team in the 2003 Pan American Games, behind only Anderson Muramatsu and Rodrigo Maciel. His brother Élson Nishimura Jr. was also on the team. Fernando played for Brazil when they won a Bronze in the 2011 South American Championship and Silver Medals in the 2013 South American Championship and 2015 South American Championship. He coached for Brazil when they won the 2016 South American Championship.
