Biographical Information[edit]
Fazal Ur Rehman was a backup outfielder for the Pakistani national team in the 2014 Asian Games. He struck out against Ryota Sekiya (Japan) and replaced Adnan Butt in right in a 9-1 loss; he got the putout. He replaced Butt again in a 25-0 win over Mongolia and neither batted nor handled a chance in the field. He replaced Burhan Johar in right in a 6-0 loss to China and was retired by Ziliang Li.
Ur Rehman was the starting right fielder for Pakistan when they finished fifth in the 2015 Asian Championship, going 4 for 14 at the plate and handling 4 putouts with one error. He was third on the team in hits after fellow flyhawks Ubaid Ullah and Muhammad Sumair Zawar. He had a two-hit game in a loss to Gold Medalist South Korea. He batted 5th and played LF for Pakistan in the 2017 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers. He was 0 for 2 with a walk against Brazil, the walk coming from Edilson Batista. Against Great Britain, he was 1 for 2, with their lone hit off starter Greg Hendrix. He finished third on the team in average and OBP, behind Umair Imdad Bhatti and Faqir Hussain.
He played very well in the 2017 Asian Championship, scoring Pakistan's only run against Japan, going 2 for 4 in a loss to Hong Kong and driving in three in a win over Sri Lanka. He hit .417/.417/.583 for the event with three RBI in three games, tying Muhammad Rafi for the team lead in RBI, tying Arsalan Jamashaid for second in average (behind Ullah), tied Jamashaid for the team lead in hits (5), led in slugging (.083 over Jamashaid and Rafi) and total bases and had two of their four extra-base hits (both doubles).
