Biographical Information[edit]
Faqir Hussain was the starting third baseman for the Pakistani national team in the 2015 Asian Championship. He went 0 for 14 at the plate, one of only two regulars to not get a hit in the tourney (Burhan Johar was the other) and he fielded .889 at the hot corner. In Pakistan, he has played for the Army team.
Playing second in the 2017 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, he went 2 for 2 in the opener against Brazil (singling off Jean Tomé and doubling off Eric Pardinho) and 0 for 2 against Great Britain. He tied Umair Imdad Bhatti for the team lead in hits as no one else had multiple hits and he was second to Bhatti's .667 in average and 1.000 in slugging. No one else hit or slugged over .250.
