Biographical information[edit]
Duane Rochford pitched in the independent leagues and for the Australia national baseball team.
Rochford allowed 9 runs (8 earned) in 9 innings for the Perth Heat in the 1994-1995 Australian Baseball League and six hits and four runs in 1 2/3 IP the next winter. He returned in the 1999-2000 International Baseball League of Australia, going 1-2 with a 3.90 ERA. He had a 2-3, 4.38 record for Australia in the 2000-2001 IBLA. The Duluth-Superior Dukes signed him in 2001, and he was 2-5 with a 4.75 ERA in 17 appearances.
He represented his nation in the 2001 Baseball World Cup. Starting one game, he held the Philippines to two hits in five shutout innings (Joel Binarao and Alejandro Velasquez had the hits) before turning it over to P.J. Bevis; he got the win over Ramil Placides. He was 0-2 with a 4.15 ERA for Western Australia in the 2002 Claxton Shield, losing the finale on a Brett Tamburrino homer. He went to the Brockton Rox in 2002, and he was 3-0 with a 3.98 ERA and 3 saves there. He was 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA in the 2003 Claxton Shield.
